When should I introduce my kids to yoga?

As a practice yoga can be beneficial for all ages, but for kids starting a yoga practice while they are young can set the groundwork to help regulate their emotions, manage stressful situations and see their bodies in a positive way.

It’s a great way to help your kids understand why you take time out on the mat, and encourage them start some healthy habits of their own without the pressures of competition or comparison.

We offer a range of classes for kids yoga classes starting from age 3, all the way up to 16 years old, find out more about the benefits of each class below.

Meet Alice

Alice's journey into teaching yoga blossomed naturally from her personal experiences. Having practiced yoga since her teenage years in Italy, she transitioned from a media career here in London to dedicate herself to teaching yoga after becoming a mother in 2015.

Her focus on children's yoga emerged organically from her daily life revolving around mothers, babies, and toddlers. Driven by demand from other parents and carers who wanted to integrate their yoga practice with their children, Alice established numerous classes across London, often bringing her own children along. She developed a unique, fun, and accessible style of yoga for young people, which led to invitations from nurseries and schools to teach.

As her children grew, Alice expanded her expertise to include yoga and yoga therapy for teenagers. She strongly believes that yoga should be a mandatory part of the national curriculum, especially now, given the increasing time children spend on electronic devices and the escalating anxiety and stress related issues among young people. For Alice, yoga is  a powerful "tool for life" that can help young minds thrive.

Alice teaches Teen Yoga at Homerton on Mondays at 5pm
